Delete-enabled=false clarification

Background: We tag images based on the branchname. So we have main-sha8 and some-branchname-sha8 images in the repositories. We want to set delete-enabled to false for all the main-sha8 images. We will also have a script that runs preiodically to delete branchname-sha8 images.

Question:

Some layers(mainifests) of main-sha8 image might be a part of branchname-sha8 image. Now if i delete branchname-sha8 image, will this also delete the layer or manifest which is referenced by main-sha8 image? or it is protected by deleted-enabled=false?
