Zugriffstoken ähneln Sitzungstoken und erlauben die Eingabe von Anmeldeinformationen einmal pro Sitzung. Nach der Authentifizierung erhält ein Benutzer ein Zugriffstoken, das mit jeder sicheren Anforderung übermittelt wird (diejenigen, die "/secure/" im URL-Pfad enthalten, z. B. die Übermittlung einer Spende), statt immer einen Benutzernamen und ein Kennwort zu übermitteln. Zugriffstoken sind kurzlebig und können ablaufen, sodass Benutzer zu Beginn jeder Sitzung ein Token erneut abrufen müssen oder ihr aktuelles Zugriffstoken abläuft.
