ClusResTypes.CreateItem method

[The CreateItem method is available for use in the operating systems specified in the Requirements section. It may be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions.]

Creates a new resource type in the cluster and adds it to a ClusResTypes collection.

Syntax

ClusResTypes.CreateItem( _
  ByVal strResTypeName, _
  ByVal strDisplayName, _
  ByVal strResTypeDll, _
  ByVal lLooksAlivePollInterval, _
  ByVal lIsAlivePollInterval _
)

Parameters

strResTypeName

String containing the name of the new resource type.

strDisplayName

String containing the display name of the new resource type.

strResTypeDll

String containing the file name of the library containing the new resource type.

lLooksAlivePollInterval

Length of time in milliseconds that should occur between calls to the new resource type's LooksAlive entry point function.

lIsAlivePollInterval

Length of time in milliseconds that should occur between calls to the new resource type's IsAlive entry point function.

Return value

A ClusResType object that receives the newly added resource type.

Remarks

The new resource type must be supported by a resource DLL. For more information, see Creating a Custom Resource Type.
