Hello Jim, I am Henry and I want to share my insight about your concern.
Hyper-V on Windows 11 Pro absolutely supports dual monitors (and more). However, it's not enabled by default in the basic connection mode and requires a specific feature called Enhanced Session Mode. You can follow these steps to get your dual monitor setup working.
First, you need to make sure the feature is enabled globally for your Hyper-V host.
- Open Hyper-V Manager.
- In the Actions pane on the right, click on Hyper-V Settings....
- In the new window, under the Server section, click on Enhanced Session Mode Policy.
- Make sure the box "Allow enhanced session mode" is checked.
- Now, under the User section, click on Enhanced Session Mode.
- Make sure the box "Use enhanced session mode" is checked.
- Click OK.
Step 2: Connect to the VM and Configure Display
- In Hyper-V Manager, right-click your VM and select Connect....
- A connection window will appear. Do not click "Connect" yet. Look for a "Show Options" button at the bottom left. Click it.
- Go to the "Display" tab.
- Here you will see the critical setting: Check the box that says "Use all my monitors for the remote session."
- Alternatively, you can drag the slider to manually select the number of monitors you want the VM to use.
- Click "Connect".
- Your VM should now launch in a full-screen session that spans across both of your physical monitors.
Hope this helps you.
