Dear Community,

I hope this message finds you well.

I’m reaching out for guidance regarding an issue I’ve encountered after resetting my phone. Following the reset, the device automatically attempts to connect to a Mobile Device Management (MDM) server during startup. This has left me locked out and unable to access the device, even though the data appears to still be intact.

To clarify:

I performed a reset but did not do a full data wipe.

On startup, the phone immediately attempts to contact the MDM server and displays the enrollment screen.

I would like to regain access to the device without losing existing data.

My goal is to either bypass the MDM screen or find a way to reconfigure the phone without triggering a full wipe.

I have removed/unassigned the device from Intune and ABM. Once the device is restarted, it still automatically tries to enrol the company profile and fails, showing the error "Profile Installation failed SCEP Server returned an invalid response"

Would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to:

Prevent the device from attempting to contact the MDM server at startup.

Reconfigure or reset the device in a way that bypasses the MDM screen.

  1. Retain access to the existing data without performing a full wipe.

Any guidance will help a lot.
