Cannot project my desktop using the “Screen mirroring” screen sharing of my SarfaceBook 3 Windows 11 with automatic updates to a Sony XR-65A80J television with version PKG6.4284.0521NAA. The TV is on the same Wi-Fi as the computer. By pressing "Microsoft" & "K" the computer recognizes the TV and displays the connection is in progress. After 1 minute, the computer still displays "Cannot connect."

The connection is made for video sharing with Edge and Chrome, but it is not possible to share the desktop

Thank you for posting your inquiry here in Microsoft Community, Ubique3.

I'm sorry to hear that there's an error when screen sharing your Surface to the Sony TV. I'll do my best to be able to assist you on this.

May I confirm if you're using the chrome casting when sharing the screen? Have you tried the chrome/edge casting with Windows 10 before?

Have you tried the methods below in your Surface Book 3? If yes, is it the same error?

    1. Launch the Chrome or Edge browser on your computer.
    2. Follow these steps depending on the browser:
      • If using Chrome, click the More  icon → Cast...
      • If using Edge, click the Settings and More  icon  More tools → Cast media to device.
    3. The cast  icon appears to the right of the address bar and a Cast Tab window will appear.
    4. Select the Sources dropdown and then follow the steps below according the casting method you want to use:
      • Click Cast file → navigate to and select the file in the Open file window → click Open.
    5. Click to select the TV.
    6. To end casting, go to the right of the browser address bar, click the Cast  icon, hover over the device that is casting, then select Stop casting.

You may want to try to reach out Sony about this since based on the specifications of the TV it only supports Chrome Cast.

Hope this helps, otherwise, let us know so I can further assist.
