Surface Duo: How to tell what's running on the phone?

Hello all,

I have a Surface Duo and recently installed some apps. Now when I open the phone there is always an ad playing. I can't determine which app is doing this, so I have two questions:

  1. How do I see which apps are currently running on the phone?
  2. How do I see a list of installed apps by date?

Thank you!

    Hi RebC,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.

To check the apps running on the background, wipe up from the bezel then pause. It should show you the recent opened apps. If your have enabled the 3 system navigation, you can click the little square with the red circle on the picture below to bring up the recent apps opened or running on the background.

For the app list, try checking on the settings > apps & notifications.
