Hi Austen Clair,
We value your contribution to the Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Surface Book 3 and Samsung Odyssey monitor. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.
- Press and hold both the volume-up button and the power button simultaneously until the screen turns off (approximately 15 seconds). Continue holding both buttons down for at least 15 seconds, even if the screen flashes the Surface logo.
- After releasing the buttons, wait for 10 seconds. Finally, press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on.
- Please make sure that your Surface Book 3 is fully up to date with the latest Windows updates and firmware updates. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Windows Update> check for update.
- Next, try using a different DP 1.4 to USB-C cable to see if that resolves the issue. It's possible that the cable you're currently using is faulty. Ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both your Surface Book 3 and the monitor.
- Download and install the driver pack on your Surface device. This will help us update the hardware and firmware.
- Although it seems unlikely, it’s worth noting that the issue started after launching Starfield with a game update. Consider rolling back the update or checking if there are any known compatibility issues.
- If that doesn't work, try connecting your Surface Book 3 to a different monitor that supports 120Hz over DP 1.4 to see if the issue is with your laptop or the Samsung Odyssey monitor.
Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Christopher
