In that case, it might be worth trying a different USB cable.
Surface Duo 2 File Transfer
My Surface Duo 2 does not show up on my PC when connected by USB, even though "File Transfer" is enabled in USB Preferences. When I plug in the USB I hear a Beep but nothing shows up in "Notifications" either.

2022-07-28T19:20:43+00:00 Hi Richard MH,
I would suggest looking in Device Manager when the Surface Duo 2 is connected to your computer to see if there are any errors. If you find that there is a yellow exclamation point on the list for the Surface Duo 2:
- Right-click, uninstall
- Unplug the USB from your computer
- Re-plug and see if the driver installs correctly.
Please let us know if you need more assistance after following these steps.

2022-07-28T20:25:54+00:00 I looked in Device Manager. There are no errors or exclamation marks. However the Surface Duo 2 is showing under Devices as connected to my PC via Bluetooth. The only option showing under "Connect Using" is "Access Point". Also in the Duo 2 Preferences USB is controlled by "This Device" and used for "File Transfer" which is grayed out. When I plug in a USB data drive it works fine. I am also using Link To Windows.
