I recently purchased the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock ("Surface Dock 4") after being explicitly told by Lyn with Microsoft Sales that the Surface Laptop 3 would work with (x2) Dell USB-C monitors without the need to daisychain the monitors together. However, when I plug the USB-C monitors into the Surface Dock 4 and then the Surface Dock 4 into the Surface Laptop 3, only 1 of the 2 USB-C monitors will turn on. I can confirm that both USB-C Dell monitors work. Was Microsoft sales representative incorrect in their statements to me? The following is my conversation with Lyn from Microsoft sales on July 12th, with bold emphasis added.
You: I would like to connect two external monitors to my current Surface Laptop 3, and am considering the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock

You: However, the information on the webpage describing this Dock is seemingly contradictory, or at least not clear for my use case

You: There are Dell 27" 4K 60 GHz USB-C monitors that I'd like to also purchase from Dell, but I wanted to ensure that these monitors would work with the Surface Laptop 3 when the monitors are plugged directly into the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock and not daisychained together

You: Accordingly, my question is whether or not the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock works with the Surface Laptop 3 in a way that DOESN'T require the use of daisychained monitors
19:30, Jul 12
You: (specifically using USB-C monitors)
19:31, Jul 12
Lyn: Got it, thanks for sharing that with me, Mark. To answer your question, that is yes. The Surface laptop 3 is compatible with Surface Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock using the h USB-C port.
19:33, Jul 12
You: That part I understand, what I'm not sure of is whether I can plug (x2) USB-C monitors into the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock and whether my Surface Laptop 3 will be able to send signal to both external monitors via this dock. Does that question make sense?
19:34, Jul 12
Lyn: Indeed. The Surface can accommodate maximum of 2 monitors.
19:35, Jul 12
You: And you can confirm that daisychaining will not be required with use of the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock with the Surface Laptop 3 to these (x2) external monitors when connected to the Dock via USB-C?
19:37, Jul 12
Lyn: Yes. The Surface Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock will be connected to the Surface Laptop 3 to extend the port. From there, you may attach the monitor to the dock.
19:39, Jul 12
You: And when you say "attach the monitor to the dock" you mean "attach the monitors to the dock and the Surface Laptop will be able to send signal to both without the monitors being daisychained together", right?
19:40, Jul 12
Lyn: Yes, as it'll only connect to the dock.
