Edge on Mac OS - Why do I have to double-two finger tap to show right click menu

Why do I have to double-two finger tap within Edge on MacOS to show the right click menu?

I have tried all three options in the Mac Trackpad settings - Two finger tap, bottom right corner tap, bottom left corner tap - and all three options I have to double up to make the right click menu work.  I am currently using a 2017 15" macbook pro, but I had a 2012 15" macbook pro before and it did the exact same thing.

Anywhere else in the OS, or even in other apps, the single-two finger tap (my default) works without issue every time.  Something about Edge is forcing me to double-two finger tap to use the right click menu.

What's the deal?  I can't find anything in settings that would seemingly be linked to this kind of thing.  I looked through the flags page as well and didn't find anything that mattered to what I'm experiencing.

What's going on with my Edge install?
