How do I remove or disable the search bar in the new tab?

I like to keep it looking clean and I was wondering if there is an updated way to do it. The guides that I saw where from a few years back and they do not seem to be working anymore. I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to disable the search bar in the New Tab menu. I always use the address bar instead and would like to know if there is a way to disable it as it is redundant and unnecessary in the New Tab page in my opinion.

Thank you. That helps. Currently, I do not see a way apart from using a custom extension like this that replaces the new Tab page, so if you want to give it a try here is the link:

You can always change the Setting for "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar" to address bar so that if you search there, it automatically shifts the focus to address bar. For that Setting, please go to

edge://settings/search
