    Dear Anup_017and AnupDV!

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

If you can't open PDF files on your Samsung A23 phone, it may be caused by several reasons. I used a Samsung S23 to test the options. Here are some possible reasons and corresponding solutions:

Sometimes, multiple applications installed on the phone claim to be able to open PDF files, causing conflicts.

To reset the default programs on a Samsung phone, follow these steps:

    1. Tap [Settings] on the home screen.
    2. Tap [Apps].
    3. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
    4. Tap [Reset App Preferences].
    5. Tap [Reset].

These steps will help you reset the software default options you set previously, such as preferences that set certain actions to "Always" or "Only this time" Then you will be asked to choose which application can open the PDF when you try to open the PDF file. Then select the application you need.

There is also a way to manually select the application to open the file:

Find a PDF file in the file management application, and then select More options. You should be able to select the application to open the PDF view.

If you encounter the most unfortunate situation, all the applications that can open PDF files have been uninstalled.

At this time, you may need to download a browser software or other application that can view PDF.

Of course, the file itself may also be the reason why it cannot be opened normally.

Please check whether the file is damaged, encrypted or in an unsupported format:

If the PDF file is damaged, encrypted or in an unsupported format, it may also cause it to fail to open. Make sure the file is not damaged. If you set a password, please enter the correct password. If the problem persists, try to open the file on a different device to check whether it is a problem with the file itself.

If the above steps cannot solve the problem, it is recommended to contact Samsung Customer Service or visit a Samsung Service Center for further help.

I hope the above information is helpful to you. Thank you for your understanding and support!

    Best regards
