Hi, I'm not able to upload any type of files in the websites i want when required. The edge redirects to files app but greys out all kinds of files pdf, docs, photos etc meaning i can't interact or click on them or upload them or simply restricting me from uploading anything . What's the reason behind this as I able to upload any kind of files through Chrome but not in edge.

I'm on the latest version Edge, have tried clearing cache and data or reinstalling it but no luck so far.

PS: i couldn't upload image through Edge, but works in Chrome

    Hi Pranesh Jahagirdar,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thank you for providing the results of the comparison test between Edge and Chrome.  I have installed all channels of Edge (i.e. Edge Stable, Edge Beta, Edge Dev, Edge Canary) on my personal Android 11 device.Initially, I had the same problem as you on the Theforage site after I updated Edge Stable to the latest, and this symptom did not appear in Edge on other Insider channels.Since I am logged into different Microsoft accounts in four different versions of Edge, this leads us to consider the possibility of Edge's Profile level.

    • Based on this, I updated all Edges to the latest, and then chose to log out and delete data in four different versions of Edge.
    • Then I re-logged in to the corresponding Microsoft account in four different versions of Edge, and something magical happened.
    • The problem only appeared in Edge Dev and Edge Canary, but not in Edge Stable and Edge Beta. After some time, I looked at this site again.
    • The current situation of the problem has been reversed, and the problem finally appeared in Edge Stable instead of Edge Beta, Edge Dev, and Edge Canary. Considering that my device is running Android 11 (not the latest version), and Edge and Chrome are both up to date, *there may be some compatibility issues between the code of the Chromium kernel and the storage-related APIs in Android 11.*As a summary of the test results.
    • Edge, which is based on the Chromium kernel, encountered a problem when executing the file upload function provided by the Theforage website to initiate a file call request to the Android system.
    • This problem does not appear stably in a specific version of Edge, so the issue of compatibility and adaptation between functional interfaces needs to be considered.
    • Signing out of your account in Edge and deleting your data, then logging back in to create a new Profile is one possible direction.
    • Using different versions of Edge is also an option to consider. You can find Edge Stable, Edge Beta, Edge Dev, Edge Canary from Google Play. I've submitted feedback about this issue via Edge.If the problem still occurs in different Profiles or different versions of Edge in your device environment, we strongly recommend that you submit your feedback to the product team so that developers can conduct corresponding investigation and analysis. You can click on the three-column navigation menu in the lower right corner and find "Help and Feedback" to submit feedback about questions or suggestions.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

    Best Regards,

This lovely detailed response is well beyond most users' ability to comprehend. All I know is that it should not be difficult to upload a PDF to a website. I spent HOURS trying to upload a PDF of my travel itinerary as required for a visa to Brazil. It was saved as an "Edge PDF". I tried saving it as anything but in hopes it could be uploaded. I ended up taking a photo of it and uploading that way. After all these years, Microsoft is still not user friendly.
