Edge doesn't select all text when I tap on the address bar - Samsung Tablet

I am trying to use Edge on my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra) and I have an issue with the behaviour of the address bar. When I touch the address bar (or click it with a mouse/trackpad), I would expect that one of the two following things would happen:

  1. It would behave like my phone (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra) and the bar would be cleared so that I can either search or type a new web address
  2. It would behave like my Windows PC and all of the text in the bar would be selected so that I could simply start typing and it would overtype the contents of the bar with either my new web address or something that I am searching for.

What is actually happening is that when I touch the address bar a caret appears in the text wherever I touch the bar and if I start typing then my entry just appears in the middle of the text that was already in the address bar when I touched it. The only way around this issue is for me to hold "Ctrl+A" after I have touched the bar so that all of the text is selected and I can just overtype it or I can long press the bar which will eventually select all of the text in there. This is becoming a pain as it requires unnecessary extra clicks/pauses which is inefficient and makes Edge less than a joy to use.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Edge and rebooting the tablet with no change. I have also tried using both the Chrome and Samsung Internet browsers and they behave as in Option 1 above.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the Microsoft Community

According to your feedback, your tablet's edge browser, selecting the address bar is not able to select all the text, this may be a Samsung tablet and edge browser compatibility issue, if you have any suggestions for this feature, you can go through:
