Microsoft Edge Browser Crashes on Second Click of Video Full-Screen Button on macOS Ventura 13.3.1

Hello Microsoft Community,

I'm experiencing a recurring issue with the Microsoft Edge Browser (version 113.0.1774.57 (x86_64)) on my MacBook Pro 2020 with Intel cores, running macOS Ventura 13.3.1. The problem occurs when interacting with video players on websites, such as YouTube.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge browser.
  2. Go to a website with a video player (e.g., YouTube).
  3. Play a video and click the full-screen button at the bottom right corner. The video enters full-screen mode as expected.
  4. Exit full-screen mode by pressing the same button or the Esc key.
  5. Click the full-screen button again, either on the same video or another video.

Expected result:
The video should enter full-screen mode again without any issues.

Actual result:
The Microsoft Edge browser crashes after the second click of the full-screen button.

This issue occurs consistently after every browser restart, and it affects all websites with video players that I have tested so far. It significantly hampers my ability to watch videos in full-screen mode. I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this problem or any suggestions on potential workarounds.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Runqiu

Good day Runqiu, thanks for your question. I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. As this looks like this just happened after a recent update of the browser, kindly head over to the link below and try to download and install a different version and see how it goes and before doing that uninstall first the current version that you have on your end.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...

    • Scroll down the page and look for “ Looking for an older version of Edge?”
    • Select the channel/version 113
    • Select the build 113.0.1774.50, 113.0.1774.42 or 113.0.1774.35 or you can try each one of them as well
    • Select the platform macOS Universal and then download it

    Regards,

    Paul R.
