Sidebars not appearing when hovering in fullscreen

When I enter fullscreen mode with F11 on Linux, the searchbar, tab bar, and sidebar disappear (as they should). However, when I hover my mouse on the sides or top of the screen, the only thing that appears is a big X. The sidebars and search bar remain hidden, rather than being shown.

    Hi C.D.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your Linux setup when entering fullscreen mode. The behavior you described, where the sidebars and search bar remain hidden instead of being shown when you hover over the sides or top of the screen, is not the expected behavior.

There could be a few potential causes for this issue, including settings, compatibility problems, or even a bug. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Clear browser cache and cookies: Clearing the cache and cookies can help eliminate any corrupted data that may be causing the issue.

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

    1. Disable extensions: Extensions or add-ons in your browser may sometimes interfere with fullscreen functionality. Try disabling any extensions you have installed and see if the issue persists.
    2. Try a different browser: If the issue persists, try using a different browser to see if the problem is specific to your current browser. This can help determine if the issue is related to the browser itself or something else on your system.

If none of the above steps solve the problem, in Microsoft Edge, select " Settings and More " > " Help and Feedback " > " Send Feedback ". After you submit your feedback, the Microsoft team will receive and evaluate your feedback to help improve the Edge browser.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

Hahn - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
