Hi Janick O'Connor
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
I understand your concern, but it seems like you may be experiencing issues related to account security or personal information. For account security and personal information concerns, I recommend reaching out to the support team of the service or platform where you are encountering these issues. They will be able to assist you in verifying your account details and ensuring its security.
Here's what you can do to resolve this situation:
- Verify Your Account Information:
- Log in to your account and double-check all your personal details, especially the phone number. Confirm whether other information, such as your email or address, has been altered.
- Update or Correct the Phone Number:
- Navigate to the settings or profile section of your account and try to manually update the wrong phone number with your correct one.
- Some platforms may require you to verify changes via email or another security method.
- Secure Your Account:
- If you suspect someone you don’t know has access to your account, change your password immediately to something strong and unique.
- Enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security.
- Review Account Activity:
- Check if there’s any suspicious activity in your account, such as logins from unknown devices or locations. Most platforms have a “Recent Activity” section where you can view this information.
- Contact Customer Support:
- Reach out to the support team of the platform in question. Explain the situation clearly, including that the phone number is incorrect and may not have been added by you.
- Request assistance in verifying and restoring your account’s security.
- Monitor Your Other Accounts:
- If this issue involves sensitive information or an important account, ensure that your other accounts (e.g., email, banking) are secure too.
