I made a number of detailed lengthy changes to a PDF document (on my chromebook) and none of them were saved. Trying to figure out how to recover. Any tips would be so appreciated! Thank you! Chrissy

    Hello,Christine Highet

    Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

    I'm sorry to hear that your efforts are not saved in the PDF document, this must be a frustrating thing, I understand your feelings very well, so I will try my best to investigate this issue for you, come on let's work together to avoid such a situation continues to cause you trouble it. Let's see what we can do in the following two sections:

    Firstly, we will ask you to adjust some configurations in Edge to test:

    1. Please click "..." - "Settings" - "Reset Settings" at the top right of your browser - select Restore Settings to Defaults and check if the page The display will be restored to normal. 2.
    2. Click "..." at the top right of your browser, click "Settings", go to "System and Performance", and turn off the "Use hardware acceleration" option. "Use hardware acceleration"

    Then, PDF file annotation problems are often associated with some third-party reader compatibility issues, I would also like to ask you to check the following:

    1. Is there any other third-party reader in your computer?

    Please try to use the following method:

    Press "Win + R" key combination to open Run, type regedit, press Enter to enter the Registry Editor;

    Find

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\Recommended

    path, if you do not have a Microsoft folder or Recommended folder, please create a new one;

    In the above path, right-click to create a new DWORD (32-bit), named NewPDFReaderEnabled, and then modify the value to 0;

    After finishing, please restart your computer.

    I wish you all the best and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you which will determine where we go next!

    Best Regards,

    Hello,Christine Highet

    I'm sorry, I've just noticed that you're using an Android emulator on your Chromebook to run the Edge browser, our community only provides technical support for day-to-day use of Windows Home and Professional and upgrade and update failures. The question you're asking about using Android Emulator is beyond the scope of our forums, and is more appropriately posted in Microsoft Learn **** (English only, you can use a translation tool to assist with communication), which is intended for advanced users like yourself.

    You can ask a question by clicking on "Ask a question", where there are experts in the field who can provide more specialised solutions.

    I can't help you, but I'll keep the question on file in case one of our wonderful volunteers comes up with something for you.

    Best Regards,
