Regarding the hijacking of your browser's homepage.
Here are some possible causes and solutions.
- Check Startup Pages:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click on the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner to open the menu.
- Go to "Settings" and scroll down to the "On startup" section.
- Make sure the setting is set to "Open a specific page or pages" and check the listed pages. If the unwanted page is listed, remove it.
- Reset Edge Settings:
- In the Edge menu, go to "Settings."
- Scroll down and click on "View advanced settings."
- Under "Privacy and services," click on "Restore settings to their default values."
- Check for Unwanted Extensions:
- Open Edge and click on the three horizontal dots.
- Go to "Extensions" and check if there are any extensions that you didn't install. Disable or remove them.
- Clear Browsing Data:
- Clear your browsing data, including cookies and cached images/files.
- In Edge, go to "Settings" > "Privacy, search, and services" > "Choose what to clear."
- Select the appropriate options and click on "Clear."
