Background audio playback on Edge browser for Android

Dear MS

I understand that all versions of Microsoft Edge browser on Android (Normal, Canary and Developers) allow audio playback in the background if you choose to render the website using the option (View Desktop Site) which is functional but torturous.

Suggestion: Add an option to allow for audio playback in the background while using the (View Mobile Site) just like it exists for the desktop mode, simply because accessing any website using the mobile version is 10^100 times easier than the "desktop mode" in terms of font size, rendering, scrolling and zooming. Also, allow the real Picture-On-Picture feature for god sake.

P.S. audio playback in the background for the layman, is the ability to carry on listening to whatever you are listening to while the screen is off where controls (stop, backwards, forwards, etc) are provided on the lock screen as well as on the notification drawer. Or, when you launch another app on the foreground without "pinning" the browser to the side of the screen

FYI, both options exist in Samsung Internet Browser but the implementation is not that great yet.

Regards

I would welcome that too. Currently, the lack of this feature is also stopping me from using the Edge browser on Android. Other Chromium-based browsers (such as Brave or Vivaldi) as well as Firefox (with extensions) allow this.

100% agree and since I only use browsers syncing between Windows and Android, irritations like this, despite workarounds like showing as desktop mode and playing full screen work, I'm much more likely to switch back to either Brave or Firefox on all devices, including Windows.
