Major Updates to Windows 10 computer July 2025. I'm now unable to set Photos Legacy as default app to open photos. It's on the computer but not offered. I'm offered Paint and Libre Draw but not Photos Legacy. HELP!

    Hi @Mike Ploessel

    Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A

    Could you please confirm:

    1. Can you open Photos Legacy normally?
    2. When right-clicking and selecting "Open with", can you find Photos Legacy? You can first try uninstalling both Photos and Photos Legacy, then reinstall them to see if it works. We also suggest creating a new test account to check if the issue is specific to your current account. You can run CMD as administrator and enter net user test /add to create a new local account, then test if the issue occurs. (If your original account is logged in with a Microsoft account, sign out of the Microsoft account, reinstall Photos, and try again.)

Please inform us of the test results so we can better assist you in resolving the issue.

    Best Regards,
