Edge for macOS is Microsoft's first browser for the Mac in 20 years. The first version of Mac OS, launched in March 2001, came preinstalled with the soon to be discontinued Internet Explorer 5.0 for Mac.
How to install Microsoft Edge on your Mac
Step 1. Launch your favorite web browser, in my case, I am using the built in Safari web browser that comes with macOS. Type in the address bar download microsoft edge or go to the following link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
Microsoft Edge should be promoted as the first link in your search engine. Click on Download Now to begin the download.
Step 2. By default, the Edge download page will detect your operating system, so all you have to do is click Download.
Step 3: Click Accept and download.
Step 4: After downloading, launch Edge package from your downloads or browse the downloads folder in the Dock or Finder.
Step 5: Click Continue to begin the installation.
Step 6: Choose where you want to install the browser, in this case, on Macintosh HD.
Step 7: Click Install to begin the installation.
Step 8: Enter your password if prompted then wait while the installation begins

The new Edge is a little different, but there isn't really much to learn or do after setup.
Step 12: Edge should detect Favorites from your existing browser and offer bring them over.
Step 13: Edge offers different ways of presenting your home page when you launch the browser, you can choose inspirational, informational or focused, which offers a clean look.
Step 14: If you are using Microsoft Edge on other devices with a Microsoft Account, you can sign in and have that data synced automatically.
Step 15: One of the benefits of the new browser is the improved syncing engine, which will make it easier to sync your data across all the devices you use.
