Microsoft, what are you doing? Surface and Office365 are unusable

Always liked Windows as opposed to Mac, but I have to make the switch because your products are constantly screwing me over at work. Bought a new Surface Go when they came out with the most expensive processor chip and it has the functionality of a Motorola Razr from 2006. Especially when trying to use as a tablet…

But that’s not even the worst part. Microsoft 365, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are absolutely worthless. Glitchy, crashes all the time, something that works one time might not work the next time, unreliable to say the least… I mean what are y’all doing? You should be embarrassed by the products you’re selling to the public.

Just today I sat down with my boss and created a 30 slide PPT that took 2 hours to make. When we finished, I saved it (even thought it was auto saving because this BS happens all the time) and closed the lid. Went back to my office to send to him and when I opened the lid, half the presentation was gone. The application was never closed, and it didn’t even give me the option to ‘undo’, so that confirms that I didn’t delete them by accident. It just straight up deleted everything… Why? Because it’s garbage technology, and you should be ashamed. Just Google “Microsoft (enter any 365 program here) is terrible” and look at the results that come up. It’s almost like yall just roll over and let Apple destroy you at every turn, so maybe turn all your focus on Xbox. So yeah, thanks for everything you’ve done to make things worse at every turn!

    Dear @Davis,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we genuinely appreciate your feedback and want you to know how much we value your time and trust in our products.

First of all, let me apologize for the repetition of this problem. We’re truly sorry that your Surface Go and Microsoft 365 apps haven’t performed as smoothly as they should, especially during important works. That’s not the experience we want for you, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. No explanation is worth it when a technical glitch affects core functionality for an extended period of time, but I want you to know that the engineering team has been working intensively on this issue for some time and has recently sped up the process of fixing it.

However, please understand that as frontline support staff, we are just organizing use cases and collecting data, including from you, on a daily basis and will continue to monitor the progress of this issue.  We understand how important reliability is when using our software and devices, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations. Your feedback helps us recognize where we need to improve, and we’re committed to making things better.

To help resolve these issues, we’d recommend reaching out to our Microsoft Support team, they’re dedicated to assisting with technical concerns and can work with you directly to find solutions.

Additionally, Microsoft is actively working to improve Microsoft 365 and Office, especially PowerPoint, and your feedback is incredibly important in shaping future updates. I kindly encourage you to submit your feedback directly via the Microsoft Feedback Portal.

You can do that here: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub:

    • Go to Help > Feedback > Send Feedback
    • Describe your suggestion in detail.       Picture

Every submission is reviewed, and many product enhancements have come directly from user input. I’ll also submit feedback myself, as it’s clear that many users are experiencing the same issue.

Once again, I hope you understand that PowerPoint is one of the products Microsoft is aiming to strengthen, especially in response to the growing demand for flexible scheduling tools. I truly appreciate your understanding and patience as Microsoft continue to evolve the platform.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re here to support you, and if there’s anything else we can do to assist, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Absolute dumpster fire. Try opening a work account no months ago, to set up Clipchamp. And it constantly just reverts to my default personal account with repeat server error messages.

No support from their "support" whatsoever as the chat sessions crash after a bit
