How can I remove students from my grade books when they are no longer part of my Microsoft Team (or class)?

I have students who started my course but for whatever reasons swapped subjects or didn't arrive. I have successfully removed them from my Team/ channels but they still appear in my mark/ grade books/ assignments. Please can someone advise how to remove them as obviously they will never submit the assignments!

    Hi Rachael Hurst,

I go through the post carefully, usually when we remove a student from Teams: Remove students from a class team. There could be delay before the student is removed from grade book or assignment student list. I test on my side by remove a test student, I can see the students removed from grade book after a few hours(without any other operations). If you don’t see the students removed from grade book right away, please wait for 24 hours and check the result. If the students still shows in grade book, please feel free to post back here.

    Regards,

    Clark

    Hi Clark,

    Many thanks for your reply.

I did this at the beginning of September, and they are still showing in my gradebook (although no longer in my Team as I have removed them using this method!).

[I've just tried with another student and they have indeed gone.]

So, there seems to be a glitch with an older version perhaps?

    thank you

    Rachael

    Hi Rachael Hurst,

Thanks for the updates. it seems that the glitch affects a student that was removed months ago, but don’t affect students removed recently. For further troubleshooting the issue, I would suggest create a service request for the issue to let agents on backend who have more related resource to help investigate and fix the issue. We appreciate your patience understanding.

To create service request, you may contact with Microsoft 365 admin in your organization firstly, then can create service request from Microsoft 365 admin center>Support.

For more information, please check the articles:

    Best Regards,
