It's supposed to be black (according to my theme). I tried restarting, quitting, signing out, but to no avail. Please help. I tried rebooting my pc and I checked if there's something wrong with my system. Is this error for everyone or only me? My computer is working right. There's something wrong with the New Teams.

Hi Mohammed, My name is Umar and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

The issue you are experiencing with the whiteout on the side panel in the "New" Microsoft Teams interface could be related to a variety of factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to address this problem:

    1. Check Theme Settings: Verify that your theme settings in Microsoft Teams are correctly configured to display a dark theme. Go to your profile picture > Settings > Appearance and ensure that the dark theme is selected.
    2. Clear Cache and Cookies: Clearing the cache and cookies in your browser can sometimes resolve display issues. Try clearing this data and then reloading Microsoft Teams.
    3. Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you are using a supported browser for Microsoft Teams. Popular choices include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Make sure your browser is up to date.
    4. Check for Updates: Ensure that both your browser and Microsoft Teams application are updated to the latest versions. Updates often include bug fixes that could address display issues.
    5. Try a Different Device: If possible, try accessing Microsoft Teams on a different device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your current device.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I tried all these, Umar, but to no avail. Please tell me what to do, as it is very annoying. I also use the app version.

Did you try to Reset Microsoft Teams, if not you can proceed with below steps:

    1. Close the Microsoft Teams app if it’s running.
    2. Launch the Windows Settings app and navigate to Apps > Installed apps.
    3. Search for the Microsoft Teams app and select it.
    4. Click on the More options button (…) on the right and choose Advanced options.
    5. In the Reset section, click on Reset.

If none of the above solutions work, consider reinstalling Teams as a last resort.

    Best Regards, Umar Majeed
