Hide email on your profile card as a guest in Microsoft Teams

We have guest users from different companies on one of our Teams. We're trying to prevent each other from seeing their email address.

I found a couple of old posts but no solution. I was wondering if anyone has been able to solve this.

I saw a post about hiding email in Settings --> Privacy, but I don't see that.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Armando

    Hello Armando_N,

I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Microsoft Teams does not provide a built-in feature that allows you to hide guest users' email addresses on their profile cards. The email address is a primary identifier in Teams and is used for various functionalities including mentions, invites, and search.

The visibility of email addresses is generally controlled by the Teams and organization-wide settings, and there isn't a specific toggle to hide them for individual users or guests. However, Microsoft is constantly updating Teams with new features and it's possible that this could change.

If keeping email addresses private is a priority, you might consider using anonymous join links for meetings or encouraging communication through channels where email addresses are less prominently displayed. However, for full collaboration within Teams, hiding email addresses is not currently supported to my knowledge.

You can leave a feedback about this here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332 as Microsoft usually considers User feedback for future updates.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards, Ibhadighi
