How to disable the filter for displaying unassigned tasks in Microsoft Teams?

Hello,

I accidentally created a task in Windows Teams and forgot to assign it to someone. Of course, this can be done later, but this created a new item in the filter. And even though I've assigned the task, the option is still there.

How do I delete it please? And is it possible to disallow the creation of a task without assigning it to at least one person?

Please help

Thank you

    Hello MichalRama,

To delete a task in Microsoft Teams, you can select the task you want to delete, then choose More options and select Delete. However, disabling the creation of a task without assigning it to at least one person in Microsoft Teams is not yet available in Teams.

You can submit your feedback through the portal if this option is still not available so that the Teams Engineer can look into it and add it later.

To delete a task in Microsoft Teams, you can select the task you want to delete, then choose More options and select Delete.

    Hello,

Sorry, I worded it wrong. I didn't want to delete the task, but remove the option to show unassigned tasks from the filter. Now there aren't even any.

    Hi MichalRama,

That is totally fine. I appreciate the follow up.

It appears that users are unable to use the feature to delete unassigned under the filter. If your account is a business or school account, may I ask if you may file a ticket to a dedicated staff member from the Microsoft Team or contact an administrator or IT to check into it?

Please let me know. Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Jayzar

    Hello,

Yes, this is a business account and I myself have the option to contact Microsoft directly from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. However, I only do this as a last resort when I need to solve something urgent, which this is definitely not.

It was just that until I accidentally created a task without an assignment, there was nothing like that in the filter.
