When a file is copied from the Shared OneDrive to their personal One drive can that file stay as the "master shared file"

A member of our team wants to be able to move documents (Word, Excel, etc.) from the "Community shared drive" to their "Personal One Drive" and have the file she moved remain the "master shared file" for others to access and edit.

The reason for this is she wants to be able to keep all the documents organized in a specific manner in her folders and also share them at the same time.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Brent,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum. I understand that you're trying to retain two files where the original file will act as "master file". This is not possible becase once you copy a file, it will no longer be connected from the source file. Instead of copying the file which will make the file a separate file, I would recommend creating a shortcut of the master file to their personal Onedrive. You may follow the instructions from this article.
