Access to files when moving from onedrive to teams

If I move files from onedrive to teams, do my colleagues keep access to the files? Or do I need to allow them access for all the files again? Because I have a map on onedrive now with various access to each file. I want to move it to teams but not if i need to allow the colleagues different access per file again. It's too much work then.

    Hi, Lawrence. I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

    To answer your question;

    You can move files from OneDrive to Teams without losing the access permissions for your colleagues. Barry Xie highlights how to do this in the article on https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/11c91935-ac51-42d6-a1fb-fc9b4c4d6e5d

    "1. Sign in to Microsoft Teams with your Office 365 account.

    1. Navigate to Files > Cloud storage > OneDrive. Select a file. For example, Book5.xlsx.
    2. Select Move > Browse Teams and Channels > Choose the location and click on Move.
    3. Then you can check this file in Teams > Files."

    I hope this helps you. Let me know if this contradicts what you need. I remain helpful in answering any more of your questions.

    Warm Regards

    Hi Femi,

    I just followed those steps and the colleagues lost their access permission. The new shortcuts also don't work.

    I made a shortcut in the channel and the rest of the team can't access it. Even though before, in onedrive, they could. Not perfect/great system
