Hi, hoping you can help me. A teachers has reported issues when attaching a word document to an assignment in teams for students to edit their own copy. This issue happens when students try to open the word document on some android phones/tablets in teams but not all. When they click on the word document nothing happens. Despite refreshing multiple times. I have tried this myself and was able to recreate the issue, I too cannot open a word document that I was assigned with an assignment and the setting for me to edit is turned on.

Appreciate any help! I've attached a screen shot from my phone to show what displays...

    Hi ThomasHeld2

My name is Daniel. I will be more than happy to assist you.

As a fellow MS Community forum user, I understand you need assistance to solve this issue.

I've seen a similar issue occur with other Android users it seems to it could be an intermittent issue. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&...

Please ask them to follow these steps below to reset the MS Team mobile app:

Log out from your account > uninstall MS Team app > Restart your phone > Please go to Play store for Android users > Reinstall MS Team app

However, if the problem still persists then I suspect it could be just an intermittent issue, please ask them to create a new fresh environment for MS Team mobile app. They can always go back to the previous Android account profile whenever you want.

Please ask them to follow these steps:

    1. Create a new Android user profile

    1. Go to the Play store then install MS Team mobile app in a newly created user profile.

Please let me know if the problem still persists, I will assist you with further instruction on how to move forward this issue to the engineering team for further investigations.

Thank you so much for your reply and assistance, Daniel.

I uninstalled the MS Teams app and then reinstalled, unfortunately still have the same problem - it also seems to be more than an intermittent issue as it is recurring across a good few devices.

I don't think creating a second user profile on the play store is going to be a solution for us, working in education this is a last resort and often not possible!

I will reach out to the Microsoft Ed team and see if there is anything else we can try.

Thank you again, appreciate you taking the time to respond.
