Hello Dee. I believe the issue due to a glitch or restriction in Microsoft Edge New Tab customization, especially if the “Edit background” button doesn’t respond when clicked. This is a known issue for some users, and here’s how you can troubleshoot it:

You may try these steps to fix below:

1. Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.
2. Click See all cookies and site data.
3. Search for ntp.msn.com and delete all related entries.
4. Restart Edge and try the button again.
5. If still won't work, try a New Profile
6. Go to Settings > Profiles > Add profile.
7. Create a new test profile and open a new tab.
8. See if the “Edit background” button works there.
9. Last is to Reset Edge Settings
10. Go to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values. This won’t delete bookmarks or passwords, but it will reset the New Tab layout.
