I am having issues linking my Teams account with my google calendar. This isn't allowing me to schedule meetings, etc.. which is why I pay for the software. I was told to add a text file to my website to alleviate this issue. Which I tried doing but still having issues. Can anyone assist me? Thanks!

    Hi @Josh Laurie

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing the issue you're experiencing.

I understand how important it is for your calendar to work smoothly with Microsoft Teams, especially when scheduling meetings is part of your daily routine. I’m here to help you get everything working as expected.

To connect your Google Calendar with Microsoft Teams, please follow the steps below. These instructions apply if you're using Google Workspace (not a personal Gmail account) and have a custom domain (like [******@yourcompany.com]

    1. Check Your Setup

    • Make sure your email is part of Google Workspace.
    • You’ll need to be a Global Admin in Microsoft 365 and have a Teams license.
    1. Open Microsoft Teams Admin Center
    • Go to the Microsoft Teams admin center
    • If your domain isn’t connected yet, choose “Use your existing email and custom domain with Teams.”
    • If it is already connected, select “Set up calendar synchronization.”
    • Check the following records in your domain provider’s DNS settings:
      • TXT Record: This helps with sender verification (SPF) and prevents your emails from being marked as spam.

If any of these records are missing or misconfigured, it can cause delivery failures or prevent Outlook from connecting properly.

If you’ve already added the TXT file but syncing still isn’t working, it’s likely that the next steps weren’t completed.

    1. Authorize Google Workspace
    • Sign in with your Google Workspace Super Admin account.
    • Grant access to Calendar, Mail, Contacts, Drive, and Profile.
    1. Complete the Setup
    • Once authorized, Microsoft Teams will securely store access tokens.
    • Your calendar events will begin syncing between Google Calendar and Teams.

Moreover, the TXT file only verifies your domain. You still need to authorize Google Workspace and complete the setup in the Teams Admin Center. Without these steps, the calendar won’t sync.

Furthermore, if you're looking for a simpler workaround, you can manually sync your Teams calendar to Google Calendar using an ICS link:

    1. Go to Calendar - Outlook
    2. Click the gear icon → Calendar → Shared Calendars.
    3. Publish your calendar and copy the ICS link.
    4. In Google Calendar, click the “+” next to “Other calendars” → “From URL” → paste the ICS link.

This method shows your Teams calendar in Google, but it’s read-only (you can’t edit from Google).

For more information, you can check through this:  Set up calendar syncing between Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please let me know. I'll be happy to assist further or arrange a remote session to walk you through the process.

Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
