Hello,

Is there a way to change the timeframe an email notification is sent out via Planner? I believe the options are to receive a notification 7 days prior to the due date, is there a way to change that to 30 days? Or receive 2 notices 30 days and 15 days out?

    Dear @Genova De La Paz,

Good day and thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I completely understand how helpful it would be to get earlier or multiple reminders for upcoming tasks in Planner.

Unfortunately, Planner’s current design only sends email notifications 7 days before a due date, and there isn’t a built-in way to customize this to 30 days or add additional reminders. I know this might not be the answer you were hoping for, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. User's image This is the default setting in the Notifications section of Planner, and there is no option to change this period to 30 days or other milestones, you can see the documentation directly here: Stay updated with notifications in Planner - Microsoft Support

As part of the Microsoft 365 Q&A Community Support team, my role is to help clarify how our products work, guide you through available features, and assist with any challenges you encounter. While I’m not part of the development team and can’t directly change Planner’s functionality, I want to ensure you have all the information and support you need to make the most of it.

That said, your feedback is incredibly valuable it helps shape the future of our products. If you’d like, I’d be happy to guide you through submitting a feature request directly to Microsoft’s Product Team. Every suggestion from users like you help prioritize improvements that matter most: Microsoft Planner Feedback Portal User's image In the meantime, here are a couple of workarounds that might help:

    • Set an earlier due date (e.g., mark the task due 23 days early to trigger the 7-day notice at your preferred 30-day mark).
    • Use Microsoft to Do or Outlook Tasks, which offer more flexible reminders and can sync with Planner tasks.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like further assistance or have other questions, I’m here to help. Thank you for being part of our community and for sharing your thoughts with us!
