Hello,

Since yesterday, the search function in Microsoft Teams (desktop app, mobile app, and web version) has completely stopped working for me. This issue started right after a group call and has persisted ever since.

Here are all the steps I have already tried, with no success:

  1. Signed out and back in to Teams.
  2. Cleared Teams cache completely.
  3. Cleared Windows search index and re-indexed.
  4. Deleted and reinstalled the Teams desktop app.
  5. Tried the mobile app (same account) — search still doesn’t work.
  6. Tried the web version of Teams (including in an Incognito/Private browser window) — still doesn’t work.
  7. Cleared browser cache and cookies.
  8. Restarted computer multiple times.
  9. Tried different networks (home Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, and office network).
  10. Updated Teams to the latest version.
  11. No VPN or firewall restrictions are blocking Teams.

Since this problem occurs across desktop, mobile, and web versions, and after switching networks, it seems the issue is related to my account/server-side, not my device or internet connection.

Please investigate and advise on the next steps.

Just experienced the same on Windows version Teams software, I first quit the program and re-opened, and searched started worked for 1 search.
Now doesn't search again, tried restart the software unable to find even words I can see on message history screen from 5 mins ago.

Same, search is broken. See attached image. I already tried exiting and restarting Teams, no change.

I am experiencing the same issue; the symptoms are the same as Michael X mentioned. It affects both the app and the web/mobile versions. The search finds nothing, even when the words are visible in the recent history.
