If your Teams chat messages are being sent to your email, it’s likely due to notification settings or missed activity emails being enabled. Teams sends email notifications when you miss messages or are inactive for a period. It’s designed to keep you informed, but can be turned off if it’s too much. Let me guide you how to turn that off:
- Open Microsoft Teams (desktop or web).
- Click on 3 dots next to your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Notifications and Activities.
- Look for Missed activity emails – set this to Off or change the frequency. You can also adjust Chat notifications to reduce alerts. You can find the feature based on the image below:
