Adaptor USC-Type C Plug to HDMI Socket for Surface Laptop 3

Thank you for being so helpful, Jeric. I tried connecting wirelessly, but my laptop doesn't seem to be able to connect to my TV, despite it appearing on the screen! I'm hoping that if I purchase an adapter, it will work. My TV is around 10 years old, so perhaps that's the reason? I will check out the Microsoft adapters. Thanks again

It sounds like your TV might not support Miracast or other wireless display standards that the Surface Laptop 3 uses. Older TVs often lack the necessary protocols or firmware updates for seamless wireless casting, even if they appear as available devices.

Once you’ve got the adapter, just plug it into your laptop’s USB-C port, connect the HDMI cable to your TV, and it should switch over automatically. If it doesn’t, you can press Windows + P and choose “Duplicate” or “Second screen only” to get things going. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding this matter.

I figured that might be the case, Jeric. My only other concern is that the adapter doesn't fit into my laptop (please see attached pic). The Microsoft adapter is currently out of stock, so I was thinking of purchasing a 'compatible' one as I'd like to try it out asap.

I couldn't see the picture you attached. B,ut, you can also look for alternative brands like Anker, Cable Matters, or Belkin also offer high-quality options that support 4K at 60 Hz.

Thank you Jeric, I purchased an Anker adapter with the support you recommended. It works perfectly! I'm grateful for your advice because I had been looking at a different brand with 4 K at only 30 Hz
