Dear Ms. Beatty,
Based on your description, it appears the Microsoft Universal Printer Driver or IPP Class Driver may not be fully compatible with the Brother MFC-J4620DW on ARM-based devices. This can result in formatting anomalies such as reduced page size and incorrect orientation—issues that have been reported with similar setups2. Unfortunately, Brother’s original drivers are not supported on ARM processors, and the universal driver may not consistently deliver expected results across all document types.
As a workaround, we recommend:
- Verifying that the paper size is set to A4 or Letter and orientation is set to Portrait in both the application and printer preferences.
- Disabling any scaling or “fit to page” options in the print dialog.
- Testing with a different app (e.g., WordPad or Notepad) to isolate whether the issue is application-specific.
Warm regards,
Domic Vo
