Why has the "reply" option has disappeared in MS Teams chats?

Currently, to reply in Microsoft Teams chat, you can use the option Reply with quote as shown in your attached.

After clicked on the reply with quote, the reply message will be shown as below:

Totally agree, the icon is very non-intuitive. Last week, people were thinking the 'reply' button disappeared and it confused everyone. Nobody asked for the icon change, so why not leave it as is?

Couldn't agree more, you use "reply" for every other chat interface. Why change this? I do not, in fact, wish to "quote" anything, I just want to "reply" to a message. This is not a quote moment at all. So frustrating I had to look up a forum to even figure this out. I really hate this update.

What does "Reply with quotes" mean exactly? Is it the same old reply function with an un-intuitive icon? Or does it actually add quotes to the reply? The Teams UX group should focus on bigger usability issues, like custom sizing for the left side panel or increasing the text entry box size.

Why the freak Microsoft did this? I hope the genius who changed the icon of this action, has solved his life issues and reconsider to put back the old icon

I just shake my head and quietly utter the words WHY, WHY oh WHY....... It amazes me when persons need to be better than others and try to re-interpret the REPLY button... PLEASE just go back to the simple way of life and REPLY....
