Good afternoon

I am trying to set an assignment for my students with an attachment. i have tried different types of attachments, saved in one drive, on a local drive, different file sizes and tried to upload a new word within Team.

Each time the error message that appears is there was a problem when attaching this file, please remove and try again. I have done this and tried using the on-line forums to try to trouble shoot this. My IT team are also looking into this however, they have got nowhere.

This is really important tool to our school for setting work for our students

Please can you provide some help

    Hi @C Wheelhouse (KES Staff)

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding your issue, may I kindly ask a few questions so I can understand your issue better:

    • Does this issue happen when you use Teams on the web?
    • Does this issue happen with other users as well?
    • Were you able to create an assignment normally without adding an attachment?
    • If this issue happens on Teams desktop, have you tried clearing cache yet? For more details, please refer to: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
    • Can you provide a screenshot of the issue in Teams for me if possible (make sure to hide all of your personal information)?

Hope to hear back from you soon.

The initial response may not fully address your needs, but it will help me better understand your situation. Once I get the information, I will try my best to find the next steps.

    User's image

I have tried adding the same file to all classes currently 4 classes you can add the file however, the other 10 you can't, from last friday this has increase by 2

it has been tested by another teacher and they are having the same problems

I can confirm that I can create a normal assignment, however it says it is distributing this to students and does not create the assignment

    Hi @C Wheelhouse (KES Staff),

    Thank you for the response.

Based on what you've described and the impact on multiple users, it looks like this issue may require deeper investigation from the backend. To ensure it can be resolved efficiently, I highly recommend that your Office 365 Global Administrator (IT Admin) raise a support ticket with Microsoft.

A technical support engineer from Microsoft can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.

Here’s what your Office 365 Global Admin (IT Admin) should do next:

    • Submit a Service Request: The Global Admin should create a service request with Microsoft support to get advanced technical assistance and diagnostics. For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin.

Note: If you’re an end-user, please coordinate with your Office 365 Global Administrator to handle these steps.

I apologize for redirecting you the related team support, as the moderators in this community don’t have access to the detailed system needed to troubleshoot this effectively due to privacy and security constraints. But Microsoft’s support team has elevated permissions and access to backend systems that we, as community moderators, do not. This ensures your issue is handled with the right tools and expertise and helps you get a faster resolution.

Hopefully, they will be able to help resolve your issue as quick as possible and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
