After latest teams update, I can't get full links in the teams chat, I am getting only partial link and I will have to hover over and copy the links individually rather select the whole text in a single GO

As you can see before the update I cant fetch the full links in the chat, whereas after the latest update I am not able to copy all in the links in a single GO, when there is 15+ links in a chat I will have to copy each of them individually which is very tiresome.. How to change my chat display preference such that full link is displayed.

    Hello @Balamurugan, Akshayarohith (A.),

    Thank you for responding.

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit formal feedback through the Feedback Portal and for sharing the link with me.

I’ve just voted up your idea because I truly believe many users are also hoping that Microsoft will restore the ability to copy full hyperlinks directly from Teams chat or Microsoft will introduce a new feature to help improve workflow.

To help amplify your voice, I’ve summarized the issue and included your feedback link below so others can easily access and vote:

    Issue Summary:

After the latest Microsoft Teams update, users are no longer able to copy full hyperlinks directly from chat messages. Instead, only partial link previews are displayed, requiring users to hover over each link and manually copy the URL from the tooltip.

    Feedback Link:

Enable user to copy full link from the chat itself rather copying each link individually, since new update only partially displays the long URLs

If you found this helpful, you can mark my answer as “Accepted”. That way, it will be pinned to the top and more people will see the solution and your feedback link, increasing the chances of getting more votes and visibility from the product team.

Once again, thank you for understanding the nature of my role and for helping Microsoft better recognize how customers actually use the product. Your feedback not only highlights a real-world challenge but also contributes meaningfully to the future development of Teams.

    Thank you for cooperation.

    Hello @Balamurugan, Akshayarohith (A.),

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

After reviewing your case and comparing it with the current behavior in Microsoft Teams, I can confirm that the way links are displayed in chat messages has changed after the recent update.

Previously, full URLs were visible and could be selected and copied all at once. Now, links appear truncated, and you need to hover over each one individually to copy it. This can be especially inconvenient when dealing with multiple links in technical workflows.

At this time, I haven’t found any official documentation from Microsoft confirming this change or offering a way to revert to the previous behavior.

I understand this may impact your productivity and since this is by design, I highly recommend submitting feedback through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub to request the return of the ability to mute individual threads:

    • Go to Help > Feedback > Send Feedback
    • Describe your suggestion in detail.

This allows the development team to understand the needs of real users. Not only Teams, but all Microsoft apps are continuously improved to better serve users like you. Your feedback may help us revive or introduce features that make a real difference.

Every submission is reviewed, and many product enhancements have come directly from user input. I’ll also submit feedback myself, as it’s clear that many users are experiencing the same issue.

I truly appreciate you're understanding and patience as Microsoft continues to evolve the platform.

If you've already submitted feedback, please share the link here. That way, not only me but others who share the same idea will know how to raise their own feedback and can support yours, helping the development team become aware of it.

    Waiting for your reply!
