Dear Tom
Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm Haien from Microsoft Q&A.
I appreciate you sharing the system details and screenshots. The dism result indicates that you are using Windows 11 Home, version 25H2, and that you have both the English (en-US) and Chinese (zh-CN) language packs installed, with English serving as the backup. This validates what the user interface shows you. The user interface may occasionally display a mix of languages due to known issues with in-place upgrades. A partial mix results from the upgrade process updating the basic system files but possibly failing to properly prioritize or reapply the installed language packs. The issue is made worse by the fact that some older apps and system-level files have strong ties to the original installation language.
Here are the solutions to help you resolve this issue on your Windows 11 system.
- Go to Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Make sure "zh-CN" is at the top of the "Preferred languages" list. If it isn't, use the three-dot menu next to it to move it to the top and click Set as Windows display language > You will be prompted to sign out and sign back in.
- Go to Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Find "English (United States)" in the list and click the three-dot menu next to it > Select Remove > Restart your computer > Go back to Settings > Time & language > Language & region and click Add a language > Search for "English" and add "English (United States)" again > Restart your computer one more time to ensure the changes take full effect.
- For advance, you can try this: Download official Windows 11 version 25H2 RTM ISOs here | Windows Central (select zh-CN during creation via Media Creation Tool) > Mount it (right-click > Mount) > Open Command Prompt as Admin, run:
-
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:"D:\x64\langpack\zh-cn\lp.cab" /Source:"D:\"(replace D: with your mounted drive) - Then:
DISM /Online /Set-AllIntl:zh-CN
-
=> Then Restart and check.
