Thanks for bringing this up. I am here to help.
To better understand your setup, could you please confirm the following:
- What exact Windows version and edition are you running? For example, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Home, or Windows 11 Pro N. You can check this by pressing Win + R, typing winver, and pressing Enter.
When you try to download the Media Feature Pack, are you using the Microsoft Store, Settings > Optional Features, or the Microsoft Support website?
Do you see an error message when the download fails? If yes, what does it say exactly?
Which game are you trying to run that requires the Media Feature Pack? Some games call for specific codecs.
Have you tried restarting your PC after the failed installation, or running Windows Update to make sure your system is fully updated?
The Media Feature Pack is only needed if you are running a special “N” edition of Windows 10 or 11. These editions do not include media technologies like Windows Media Player, so the pack must be installed separately.
Please also check this article for reference: Media Feature Pack list for Windows N editions
If you are not on an “N” edition, the Media Feature Pack will not install, and the issue lies elsewhere. Once you share the answers to the questions above, I’ll guide you step by step to get this working.
