Hi! Shivam. Thanks for the details.
Here are the most common fixes for your issue:
- Disable Hardware Acceleration (Rendering Bug Fix)
This is the #1 fix for clipped annotations when zooming:
Go to edge://settings/system
Turn Off: Use hardware acceleration when available
Restart Edge.
Edge’s PDF engine sometimes misrenders vector text layers when GPU rendering is enabled.
- Reset PDF Rendering Engine (Experimental Flag)
Edge has an experimental PDF renderer that can cause clipping:
Go to: edge://flags
Search for: "PDF viewer new rendering engine"
Set it to Disabled (or Enabled, if it’s currently disabled — try both ways).
Restart Edge.
This forces Edge to switch between legacy and new rendering modes, which often resolves zoom-related bugs.
- Update Edge to the Latest Version
Some builds (especially in 2024–2025 releases) had PDF annotation zoom bugs that were patched later:
- Go to
edge://settings/help - Make sure it says Microsoft Edge is up to date.
- Use Print-to-PDF or Save-As PDF Workaround
If you’re exporting or sharing the annotated file:
Use Print → Save as PDF after annotating — this re-renders the text layer and removes clipping in the final document.
See if this helps. If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Best regards,
Kimberly
