hi Alex,
you set up an app registration for alteryx but now the secrets are lost. no worries, this happens more often than you'd think.
you need to get into the azure portal. go to entra id and find 'app registrations'. look for the app you created for alteryx. if you're not sure which one it is, you might have to check a few by their names.
once you find the right app registration, click on it. then, go to the 'certificates & secrets' section on the left menu. here's the important part: you cannot recover a lost secret. azure never shows them again after you create them for security reasons.
what you need to do is create a new client secret. just click 'new client secret', give it a description like 'alteryx new key', set an expiry, and add it. this will generate a new secret value. copy this new secret immediately because you won't be able to see it again!
now, you have a new client id (the application id from the overview page) and a new client secret. you'll need to update your alteryx connection with these new credentials.
also, check the 'api permissions' tab to make sure the app still has the permissions it needs to function correctly.
you can't get the old secret back, but you can easily create a new one in the app registration and then update your alteryx configuration with the new credentials.
regards,
Alex
