Hi @Cress, Joel,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
To remove an old Microsoft Teams account (like one from a former subcontractor) that you no longer have access to, here are the suggestions you can try:
1. Remove the account from Windows settings
If the account is still linked to your device:
- Go to: Settings > Accounts > Access work or school
- Select the old account.
- Click Disconnect and follow the prompts.
2. Leave the organization
- Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizationsand sign in with your Microsoft account.
- You'll see a list of organizations you are a guest in
- Find the subcontractor's organization and click Leave organization next to it
- Sign out and back into Teams. The organization should now be gone from the dropdown.
3. Clear Teams cache (if the org still shows up even after leaving or disconnecting old account)
For Windows:
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar, and then select Quit.
- Pressing Windows+R to open the Run dialog box.
- In the Run dialog box, enter the following path, and then select OK.
%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
- Delete all files and folders in the directory.
- Restart Teams.
For macOS:
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit or press Command+Q.
- In the Finder, open the /Applications/Utilities folder, and then double-click Terminal.
- Enter the following commands, and press Return after each command:
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
- Restart Teams.
