What are different resolutions of monitors used for?

It's comfortable to connect my MacBook Air to a 4K monitor.

I wonder what are different resolutions used for? For example, what is a 5K resolution monitor used for and what is a 6K resolution monitor used for? What kind of resolution monitors is used for surf the internet? What kind of resolution monitors is used for play video games? What kind of resolution monitors is used for writing code? What kind of resolution monitors is used for display documents?

    As for what resolutions are used for different things, that is a personal preference coupled with the limits if the video card and PC connected to the monitor, there aren't any real hard and fast rules. Since you posted under the Surface Go tag, the max resolution is 3840 x 2160.
