    Dear @Ayush Kumar,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble opening Microsoft Edge and accessing your educational PDFs. I understand how disruptive this is to your studies, and I'm here to help you get this resolved.

First, please note that I am unable to view the recording you attached. To help you troubleshoot this, I need a few more specific details about your computer setup and the behavior of the browser:

    • What operating system are you using (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS)?
    • What exactly happens when you try to open Edge? Does the window appear blank, does a loading circle never resolve, or does the icon just flash on the taskbar and disappear?
    • When did this problem start? Did it happen immediately after a recent Windows update or an Edge update?
    • Can you open other programs (e.g., Word, Excel, or another browser like Chrome or Firefox)?
    • Regarding the PDFs: Are the files stored locally on your computer, or are you trying to open them from a website or cloud storage (like OneDrive)?
    • A screenshot of what you see when you try to open Edge (even if it's just the buffering icon or a frozen window) would be very helpful.
    • What Microsoft 365 license do you currently have (e.g., Personal, Family, or a specific Education/Enterprise license)?
    • If you can open Edge, are you able to open a PDF file successfully if you use an InPrivate (Incognito) window?
    • If possible, can you send me your recording via private message to see if I can see it from there.

In the meantime, here are a few general workarounds you can use to continue your studies:

If you can open other applications, switch to a different browser to access websites and download any necessary files.

If your educational PDF files are stored on your computer (local files), you can use a program other than Edge to open them.

1.Use Adobe Acrobat Reader: This is the standard, free PDF reader.

If you don't have it, open your working browser and search for "Adobe Acrobat Reader free download."

2.Use a built-in application: Windows often includes a basic PDF reader (sometimes called "Photos" or a generic "Viewer").

    • Right-click the problematic PDF file.
    • Select Open with.
    • Choose a different application from the list (like Adobe Reader or an alternative browser like Chrome or Firefox, if installed).

If none of these step work, please provide additional information so I can provide the most relevant troubleshooting steps. Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm looking forward to your reply.
