Surface Laptop 7th Edition, Snapdragon processor USB C TO HDMI adapter.

very clear and straight to the point :
-> Surface Laptop 7th Edition, Snapdragon processor (ARM64), we will call it MSL7.

-> USB-C to HDMI adapter issue :

(The adapter & the cable work on different PC)
(The MSL7 also worked with a different adapter same cable though).
The monitor also works (on the hdmi port)
The adapter does get smth (it heats up).
On device manager, it displays if plugged as "Billboard" (in details as white board or smth in properties).

-> So the combo of this particular adapter + MSL7 doesn't work.

What I've tried so far :

-> reinstall the billboard and check for updates obviously.

-> reinstall another USB bus manager driver.
-> on Regedit, I've deleted the following files :

ScaleFactors, Connectivity and Configuration from HKEY_Local_Machine\sys\CurrentControlSet\Ctrl

-> I've tried MSL7 diagnostic tool and in advanced startup on blue screen try to repair option but nothing worked so far.

As a reminder, the cable, the port and the adapter are working properly but not all together.

Besides reinstalling the universe from scratch, any ideas ? any takers ?

Hi,

I've already seen this list, didn't help much.

I'm using an ISY IAD 1035 for the adapter. Working on other laptops.
The cable could be any. I've used several different working cables.
The two I'm using the most is an "awm style 20276" and another one golden looking without any information displayed on.

As I said, my cables works elsewhere, my adapter works elsewhere, my MSL7 worked with another adapter (not mine) from USB-C to HDMI too, my screens works too.

Just the specific combo isy + my pc displays the thing as "billboard".

Are the other laptops also Snapdragon (vs Intel)? All I can suggest is that you file a detailed problem report using the Feedback Hub app. Include links to the vendors site for the problematic adapter.
