Need solution to pin PWA app to Start menu through Intune when package ID varies per user

Hi,

I’m testing PWA apps in my environment through an Intune configuration policy. The app installs successfully, and a shortcut is created on the desktop. However, I also want it to be pinned to the Start menu.

I’ve already created a separate policy for the Start menu, where we define it using the package ID. The problem is that for PWA apps, the package ID is different for each user, even for the same PWA. So, it can’t be defined directly in the policy.

I’m looking for a method or solution that allows me to pin the PWA app to the Start menu, regardless of the package ID. Please suggest a solution.

    Hello TechUST,

This is a bit of a unique requirement, but you can try an alternative approach. Instead of using the package ID, configure the Start Menu policy to reference the desktop shortcut link directly. Use the "desktopAppLink" as described in the documentation below and see if that works better for your scenario.

    Hope this helps!
